SAPONIFICATION VESSEL  

 

The saponification vessel is a cylindrical vessel. The bottom of the vessel is conical in shape. The vessel is having circular coil inside. The coils are having holes, steam is injected from these holes. When soap is obtained by full boiled process layers of soap and spent lye separates out. The spent lye is at the bottom and soap is at the top. Spent lye is drained from the valve at the bottom of the vessel. After the lye is drained, soap starts coming out of the valve. Since the heating of the soap mixture is with the help of steam there no chance of soap getting burned. Better quality of soap is obtained with the help of this vessel.
